Hello! I've been Captain Experimental this past couple of days, making doll head ornaments (inspired by Strange Dolls) and sculpted interiors for silver box pendants. The goal is to make one of a kind pieces for our biggest show, Bead and Button in Milwaukee. This year, we will have two tables! I need to get in gear and work faster! I'm also working on hollow glass beads filled with tiny relics and drawings on transparent paper, then capped with silver. This project has taken ages, collecting, drawing and sculpting all the pieces...almost done...so tempted to hoard...I will document them tomorrow. Greg bought this super cute knit bunny for me at Target, a reward for my patience (we are potty training Azalea and it is slow going-that child is the most stubborn creature to walk the earth; any tips would be greatly appreciated!).
The comments left on my 'idea post' are excellent! There is still time to add your thoughts on what you would like to see GGS produce, so don't be shy! I will name the winner (or winners, I'm exceedingly pleased with the input!) on Tuesday. We are going to Atlanta this weekend for a show by Bead Mercantile (http://www.beadmercantile.com/). I love Atlanta and hope to visit friends, the botanical gardens and that weird restaurant downtown that serves really good chili dogs (Varsity's?). Stop by and say hi if your in the neighborhood!

Say "Hi" to Anne Choi if you see her in Atlanta!

When are you going to Milwaukee? I would love to see you guys. The new boxes look cool. You should do some mini free standing figures out of bronze, or small paper weight style mini landscapes embellished with mystical creatures. That would be lovely.

My boys are 14 and 18, so I can't speak from recent experience on potty training. My younger boy was so very stubborn, and would not 'go' for days if he felt like he was being made to use the potty! Now, I am learning about the Law of Attraction, you bring to you what you focus your energy on, and I would say to not focus on what she is not doing, and to imagine her using the potty joyfully and otherwise let it go. The more you get stressed about it, the more she will pick up on that and feel uncomfortable and will want to go back to what feels secure to her (the diaper). Not knowing any other details, I may be off-track on this, but hopefully it's helpful in some way.

Good luck, Cindy

Well, since you're still asking for ideas...I really like idea of Buddha related things, a hand of Buddha would be great or maybe a sculpture of just his serene eyes. I live in the Sacramento area and we boat a lot on the local waterways so I'm always designing "water-related" jewlery. Maybe some fanciful clams, shrimp or crawdad charms...people on the Delta would love them!! And thanks so much for all the wonderful things you already create, not to mention taking the time to ask what else we'd like to see...your work is truly magical!

Cindy,
You're right about me being stressed and so determined for her to be potty trained! I'm going to take your advice and visuallize.

Good for you. I wish I had known more about that when mine were little! I'm glad that helped.

I wish that I could go to Atlanta right now! I'm getting that icky sticky feeling in my stomach and could use a change of landscape. I want more Anne Choi beads. Maybe I will try to sell some art and buy some new ones. You know how I'm hooked.
