Baby Shiba Inu.

Baby Lineolated Parrakeet.

This is my girl constructing stories for me while I work. She has an extensive collection of playmobile (from pirates to fairies to Noahs Ark...) and comes up with the most entertaining stories. I should record her. Right now she's saving the penguins and rabbits from the wicked sasquatch (today he's bad). When I'm done with this were going to make some miniature food from polymer clay. I made a few things at 1/12 scale some months ago and they came out looking rather piddly and unconvincing. My sis brought some mini food at 1/6 scale and they are easier to see and play with. I think we will make some more cakes.
We are getting a puppy and a baby bird this weekend. I've been really nervous trying to get everything ready ( more for the puppy than the bird) so i've been extra weird. I've never had a dog before and am expecting chaos. I've watched all the reruns of the Dog Whisperer I could find and I think I understand dog logic. It put me in mind of wolves, all this business about pack leaders and who's top dog. That should be easy. I like being a leader, sometimes. I liked the idea of her watching out for Azalea. The dog we've chosen is called a Shiba Inu, a Japanese breed that looks like a fox. The bird is a Lineolated Parrakeet, known for being one of the friendliest birds. It will be nice to have this new energy in the house. Well we are ready to make little cupcakes and then back to puppy proofing!

*squee!* puppy!* We think our dog is part Shiba Inu, we got her from a shelter so we don't know. Some pics of Zoey here:

She is very independent, like a cat, she does what she wants to do. But she is also very sweet.

Hope to see you at the Bead bonanza, anyone coming?

The puppy is CUTE. They're hard work, but very rewarding - especially when your little one has someone to grow up with! I just read an article on how beneficial it is for children to have an animal to take care of... although our little one has been around dogs so much in her life that I'm almost afraid that she'll only want furry friends! :) Hope to hear some puppy adventures!

We are so excited! I couldn't find that pic, Melanie! Not so internet savvy.

I've heard what hard work they are and I have no idea what kind of work it will be, e-lo! I wonder if its hard to keep an eye on them or potty train them. I hope its easier to train a dog than baby! I had the hardest time doing that!

Oh that pup is wonderful! I agree on what e-lo wrote above, hard work but rewarding if you get it right:) Even though I love most any animal I've come to realize that I'm just so much more of a cat- than a dogperson when it comes to what I want in my own home. My dog (Norfolkterrier) will be 5 this year, and he sure was and sometimes is quite a handful... But adorable too.

Good luck, with pup and birdie!

LOL, I think it is easier to house train a dog than potty train a baby... I'm still working on that! :)
