This is a jointed paper doll I painted in egg tempera on paper. I'm thinking of having it printed and selling them on my etsy store. I love jointed paper dolls, but I don't know if other folks will like her since she's a bit different from other merfolk.
This is one of three paintings I made for Andrew's opening 'Into the Night' held this month at Allegory Gallery. I really enjoyed working on black canvas with a very different pallette than I usually use.
I think this piece was the favorite of the bunch...probably since the owls face is cute.
This is a portrait of an invented individual. I thought of her as a witch, since her face held a bit of secrecy and maybe a little sadness.

Cynthia,
Your paintings are quite magical. I think your jointed mermaid has amazing potential. She is so lovely and would look wonderful constructed and framed in a shadow-box- a beautiful blend of painting and delicate sculpture!
Thanks everyone! I think the mermaid looks great in a shadowbox. I really loved painting her. On to the next one!
I have long been a fan of your jewelry- and now I find out you are an equally talented painter! Is there anything you cannot do? Your work is beautiful and inspiring- can't wait to see what you do next!
Thanks Dalaimomma!
I actually studied to be a painter/sculpter in my youth. I guess jewelry was a natural direction. And there are so many things I can't do! I can't make a website or even change my blogroll. Techie stuff is hard for me.

Thanks for sharing with us.
They all draw me in, but I have to say the girl with the owls is captivating me! She is popping out of the dark. She is the queen of the night! Beautiful!
I really want to buy one of this mermaid! I wish you could have an online class on how to make them, draw them, paint them! You are wonderfully talented!
