Hello! Here are some pieces I've been working on for my book proposal. I'm not sure if I should show samples (I suppose some folks would keep stuff secret for copyright purposes - or maybe for surprise, I don't really know) but I thought it would be nice to see what's coming soon and maybe get some feedback. The first project is a sculpting lesson for the owl, the moth is a project for an intricate chain. Anyway, let me know what you think, I always value the opinion of fellow bloggers!

I love them both!
I love the owl, well because I love all owls. And the moth is very cool. I am in love with those metal links you used for the chain. Very nice Cynthia!
I love them both, too! I can't decide which I like better! Thanks for sharing photos of them.
You are certainly the bees knees!
Congratulations!!!
How amazingly wonderful...
(and honestly- I want to see it all...)

Those look fascinating! Would love to see you create a book.
ooooh! they're both beautiful...love the intricacy of the moth project...it does make me want to see more...sign me up for a copy of the book, for sure!
you are brimming with talent, cynthia. anything that you offer up for a book is sure to be amazing!!
Looks good so far, my sister.
very lovely... a book i would be delighted to have in my library.
PS: I love you. I will love your book. It will be the best book!!!
it's funny i stumbled on your site through our common fave book, jonathan strange..., and now come across your owl project, because i have an unfinished painting of an owl. my best on your creative endeavors. i hope you don't mind if i link your blog.
Thanks everybody! Its really encouraging to hear such kind words. I plan to have a large range of projects and some of my secret techniques! But its nice to share and be helpful, I jsut hope I'm not such a nutty control freak and never make the book. I'm a little bit of a perfectionist and I love detail and I would want everything explained and with photos, etc. etc. Anyway, thank you!
I am so glad that you might be doing a book - your designs are always my favorite in Stringing. I was just thinking about you as I thumbed through it this past weekend.
